“Demanding” little boy…
Connor has a little routine he does with Mommy each morning. Usually, he comes downstairs with Elmo, his monkey, his blanket, his pillow, and his “burp cloth” and sits on the couch and watches TV for about 10-15 mins. He is usually awake by then and starts to play by himself as Mommy prepares his breakfast. This morning Mommy was preparing breakfast and Daddy got to sit with Connor.
After about 5 minutes of sitting with him, I got up to help Mommy with breakfast. As I entered the kitchen, that is when I heard from the couch, “Daddy?” I said, “What, Connor?” He responded, “Daddy, sit down.” I laughed and went over and sat down with the little birthday boy.
Later, after breakfast Mommy and I sat at the breakfast table reading the newspaper and drinking our coffee. Connor comes in and hands me the smoke stack from his Thomas the Train and says, “Broke.” I said, “Ok.” and I waited for him to ask (more like request) that I fix it. He just kind of looked at me and then said, “Daddy, fix it.” I said, “Sure.” and got up and put the smoke stack on his train. I sat back down and wouldn’t you know it , it “broke” a couple more times in the next 5 minutes and I had to “fix it”.
He is so cute and is learning and saying so much more now. It truly is amazing how one day they go from not saying much to discovering that talking is so much easier than crying and pointing.
I love you, Connor!
