Mommy is home!!!!!!

September 28th, 2009 by Baby Woodruff

Daddy and I went to the airport to pickup Mommy, Grandpa, and Mimi.  I kept saying “Mommy, Mommy, Mommy” when we were at the airport.  I had a beautiful sunflower which is Mommy’s favorite flower and I gave it to her at the airport.

I am glad Mommy is home!

Love,

Connor

All things must come to an end…

September 28th, 2009 by Donnie

For 5 days and 4 nights, Connor and I have spent some precious time together.  I for one am happy that Mommy is coming home, but I am sad that my “one on one” time with Connor is coming to a close.  Sure we get quite a bit of “one on one” time together while Mommy is here, but the past 5 days was different.

I noticed that Connor was definitely more affectionate to me.  All I can think of is that he shares a lot of that affection with Mommy during the day while I am at work.  With her gone, he had to “love” on someone and I was the happy recipient.  I even noticed he was giving Grandma a few more extra hugs than normal.

This was not the easiest of times over the last 5 days.  Ever since the surgery (now two weeks ago), Connor has been having quite a difficult time sleeping at night and during the day (for naps).  He has been in and out of our bed at night and it has been a struggle to get him to take a nap during the day.  We are assuming that he was just a little uncomfortable do to the catheter and healing procesing, so we did our best to accommodate him.  Well, after not getting much sleep Saturday night (because he was in bed with me all night), Daddy and Connor tackled the nap problem and crib problem on Sunday.  He took a nice nap on Sunday in his crib and then went to bed Sunday night at 8:45pm (cried for about 5 mins) and then slept until 8am this morning.  He even stayed in his crib as I got my “chores” done around the house (shower and vacuuming).  He and Daddy are both well rested today and feel great.

The rest of the week was like normal except on was “on shift” 24 hours a day.  I am not going to lie, it is nice to have a 2nd parent around to watch him so you can take a break.  So, I am looking forward to Victoria coming home for that reason but we are really looking forward to Mommy coming home so that we can get back to being a family.  Dinner’s together, trips to the store, and walks in the evening.

So, I enjoyed my time with Connor as we had a blast.  Grandma was there on Friday and Saturday to give Daddy a hand and provide dinner at her house.  Daddy and Connor did Thursday, Sunday, and Monday alone and spent some quality time together.

It is bath time now and then we are heading over to the Blue Bird Gap Farm to have some father-son time before Mommy comes home.

We can’t wait to see you Mommy!

Love,

Connor and Daddy

Connor visits Daddy’s office…

September 26th, 2009 by Baby Woodruff

…and goes home with some presents and cookies.

Ms. Tammy game Connor a “monkey” (it really is an Orangutan but easier to say) and some cookies to snack on.  Ms. Mona gave him a Christmas bell that was hanging on her door.

He got hugs from Ms. Nancy and Ms. Tammy and spent quite a bit of time in the computer room showing them where his nose, eyes, hair, mouth, and ears are.

Hi Ms. Tammy and Ms. Nancy!!!  Thanks for the cookies!

See, he does throw a fit and cry sometimes!

September 26th, 2009 by Donnie

Of course everyone out there thinks our Connor is the “perfect son”. (Ok, maybe it is just Mommy/Daddy and the grandparents who think this.)

Remember the pictures of Connor helping Daddy outside in the yard. Well, when it was time for him to go back inside he was not at all happy — he wanted to be a big boy and help Daddy.

Connor at Disney on Ice

September 26th, 2009 by Donnie

Daddy and Grandma took Connor to Disney on Ice and we had front row seats. He had a great time and was so tired from everything that he took a 2.5 hr nap at Grandma’s house later that afternoon.

Here are a bunch of clips spliced together, so sit back and enjoy our Connor enjoying the show!

Daddy is taking good care of me…

September 24th, 2009 by Baby Woodruff

…but I miss my Mommy.

Mommy went to Florida with her parents to attend the memorial service of her cousin Ryan.

Daddy is taking care of me while Mommy is gone.  He is doing a good job, but I miss my Mommy.

Here is a picture of me taking a nap on the couch.

I love you Mommy!

Connor
