A little help from those experienced Moms…

August 14th, 2007 by Donnie

Alright, now we are going to put you to work. 😉

Victoria knows quite a few mothers/grandmothers and we are hoping that collectively you can provide us with advice on baby products. So, feel free to post a comment on this blog entry or send us an email.

Everyone will have different thoughts and suggestions, but we are looking for what has worked well (or didn’t work well) for you. If you purchased something and felt it was truly necessary and helpful for you and/or the baby, please post us a note. If it just didn’t work or you didn’t make use of it, let us know. As I mentioned in the previous posting “Overwhelming…”, we really didn’t have a clue on what to buy. We are better prepared now and have updated both of our Baby Registries, but still could use some help.

Here are a few things we can use some advice on:

  • furniture (cribs, bassinets, changing tables, dressers, etc…)
  • pack-n-plays, baby swings, bouncies, etc…
  • strollers (jogging and regular)
  • baby monitors
  • high-chairs

If we don’t start to see comments from you experienced moms, we will start to call you out one by one on this website. 😉

THANKS!

I know nothing about this stuff obviously but are you planning on installing the car seat(s) yourself? Most people do it entirely wrong (according to my boyfriend) so just a heads up that you can take it to any fire station and they will install them for free.

Heres my newly expert mom advice. A bouncy seat is a must! Daniel really spent a lot of time in it the first few months. He would sleep and enjoy sitting with us at the table. Buy the vibrating bouncy seat they can really be soothing to a cranky little one. Daniel enjoyed time in his baby swing. These are must have items! Strollers! there are so many on the market. my advice, make sure they have large wheels, long handles, so your back isnt slumped, and the lighter the better. Baby Enstine viedos are wonderful!! How do you think i had time to type this. The jumperoos are also great. They can help build strong little legs. My sons favorite is a walker. I know some people say they can be unsafe but its perfect only in the tile kitchen. The snuggles are good to keep baby close when shopping and when you need both hands. We have the digital monitors and it works great we can walk out to the dock and still hear daniel perfect. I hope I helped some. bye for now

Lots and Lots of onesies and burp cloths! I never liked the Diaper Genie, wipes warmer is good, but don’t leave it on all day, it will dry out the wipes! Love the 2-in-1 stroller/carseat combo! Don’t buy a bassinet, a pack-in-play or stroller works fine for the day or at grandma’s house. Don’t get a video baby monitor, just a regular monitor. And most importantly, have fun with all your new gadgets!
