Pictures

January 21st, 2008 by Donnie

Alright, here are a couple of pics of Connor. When I have time, I plan on writing quite a bit about our experience.

It truly was amazing and Connor is the joy of our lives! Yes, Dad cried more than Connor did. Victoria was amazing and is recovering nicely. We are all at home now.

More when I have time. (I am typing one handed because my best new bud is cradled in my other arm.)

Victoria is feeling better, Daddy is feeling a little down…

January 14th, 2008 by Victoria

Victoria is almost completely over her cold. She sounds much better and the cough is just about gone. This is good news and Connor was nice enough to wait until Mommy and Daddy got over their colds the last 2 weeks.

On Friday, the hospital sent us home with a container for Victoria to collect 24 hours worth of urine so they could do some additional tests this week. Knowing how much water Victoria drinks (and subsequent bathroom visits), I questioned whether it would be large enough. They said it would be. Well, 1 container and two large plastic cups later, Victoria was done collecting. When I took the cooler into the doctor’s office today, they were laughing that such a small woman could produce so much. They said they had never seen anyone fill up the container before.

Well, Victoria’s blood pressure was still a little high but the doctor is not too concerned because Victoria’s blood work and urine indicate there is no problem. So, Connor stays put. They checked Victoria again today and she is still 1cm dilated.

Victoria took this news quite well. Daddy on the other hand…was a little disappointed. I was hoping today might be the day that they would induce Victoria and the waiting game would soon be over. I guess not.

I have since reflected on this and realize that it is probably best for Connor to hang out in Victoria’s tummy for a little while longer. So, the waiting game continues, Connor continues to gain precious wait, and Mommy and Daddy try to relax and get some sleep.

All is quiet for now…

January 13th, 2008 by Donnie

Victoria has been resting as “prescribed” by the doctor on Friday.  Her swelling in her legs has gone down considerably (almost completely gone), but she is still battling a cough and sinus congestion.

She has been sleeping on the couch for the past 2 nights because she says it feels better and allows her to get 4-5 hours of sleep a night.  That is gonna seem like a vacation once Connor arrives!

We go back to the doctor on Monday so they can check her blood pressure and urine once again.  We are definitely getting close and the days seem to drag on and on.

It is only a matter of time before Connor arrives.

I got Mommy and Daddy to go to the hospital for 3.5 hrs today…

January 11th, 2008 by Baby Woodruff

On Wednesday, I heard the doctor tell Mommy and Daddy that Mommy’s blood pressure was a little high and they wanted her to come back on Friday to get it checked again. Well, I made sure I kept her blood pressure up just so I could see how anxious/nervous Mommy and Daddy could get on a Friday afternoon.

Mommy’s doctor’s office told her she needed to go over the hospital to have some fetal monitoring and some additional blood work done because her blood pressure was still high. Her urine test at the doctor’s office and at the hospital were fine and my heart rate was great, so that is why I can joke about it now.

At one point, Mommy and Daddy thought the doctor’s might induce Mommy today and bring me into the world tonight (according to what the doctor’s said). BUT, Mommy’s blood work turned out to be excellent and after laying down for an hour of so, her blood pressure returned to normal. 3.5 hours later, we are all back at home and I think Mommy and Daddy are a little tired. 😉

I overheard that Mommy and Daddy have to go back to the doctor on Monday…maybe I will be a good boy and not raise Mommy’s blood pressure then (I have many more years to do that).

Mommy’s been told to stay at home and rest on her side. So, no more trips to lunch with her girlfriends or sneaking out to Target a couple of times a day…

I also heard that Grandma might have had her car warmed up. 😉 (Just kiddin’.)

Love you guys and don’t worry, I will be coming soon and I will be healthy.

When Daddy is sick…

January 10th, 2008 by Donnie

…this is how Mommy and Connor spend time together.

Victoria is trying to find Connor’s heartbeat.  I’ve been trying to find his heartbeat with that listening device since week 24 with NO LUCK.  This was Victoria’s attempt.

She’ll love me for putting these pics online.  Come on, how many times am I gonna get a picture of “Princess Victoria” looking like this.

I love you, baby!
