Round 2

February 26th, 2010 by Donnie

Victoria and I are very excited that we are expecting another child in September of this year.  Currently her due date is September 24, 2010 and she is about 10.5 weeks pregnant.  We allowed Connor to tell the grandparents this time by wearing a “Big Brother” tee shirt when he visited them a few weeks ago.  They all were very excited for us and for Connor.

Victoria is already showing and thankfully we have the blog, so we can compare where she was with Connor and where she is with this baby.

Names?  Let’s just say if it is a boy, Daddy gets to pick it this time.  Girl?  Well, we have the name we were going to go with last time.  “Amanda Louise”  Victoria and I both like Amanda and Louise is Victoria’s middle name and the name of her mother.

Trust me, there will be more pics to follow and more stories as well…but for now, here are some pics of the ultrasounds from 8.5 weeks and 10.5 weeks.  You can see how much the baby has grown in just two weeks.

Stomach bug strikes…

February 23rd, 2010 by Donnie

Poor Connor. He has been vomiting since 4:30am. Daddy stayed home today so that he could take care of Connor for Mommy. I’ve been thrown up on 3 times and poor Connor can’t keep anything down. I tried apple juice with water, water, ginger ale, and an ice pop. All came up at varying times. He doesn’t even want to try a cracker…

He is sleeping now, so hopefully he will start to feel better.

I’ve been telling Victoria to wash her hands regularly and to stay away from us while I take care of him.

Here is a picture of Connor covered in towels as I made breakfast for myself.

Hope you get better soon, buddy!!!!
Love,
Daddy

Connor’s buddy Isaac came over for some pizza and ice cream Friday night.  They played for basketball, talked politics on the couch, and had a music session with Mommy.

Enjoy!

Connor went to Grandma’s house on Valentine’s Day and made Mommy a card and some brownies.  I uploaded the pictures of Connor making the brownies and giving Mommy her surprise when her and Daddy came over for dinner.

Here is a picture of him decorating her card:

“Snow outside…boots, boots, boots”

January 30th, 2010 by Donnie

This morning this is what Connor said after taking a peek outside:

“Snow outside…boots, boots, boots”

He pretty much skipped breakfast this morning and wanted to go outside.  So, we made it outside around 9am and took a walk with Mommy around the block.

We took turns pulling Connor and he really enjoyed it. Here are a couple of videos:

He watched Daddy shovel the sidewalk and driveway and then we went inside for some hot chocolate!

Connor’s Hollywood debut with Dora and Diego

January 18th, 2010 by Donnie

Here is a 1 minute clip of the Connor, Dora, and Diego DVD that Grandma bought for Connor.

I thought it was pretty cool and Connor absolutely loves it.  Connor shouts and screams at the TV when it comes on.

“Demanding” little boy…

January 18th, 2010 by Donnie

Connor has a little routine he does with Mommy each morning.  Usually, he comes downstairs with Elmo, his monkey, his blanket, his pillow, and his “burp cloth” and sits on the couch and watches TV for about 10-15 mins.  He is usually awake by then and starts to play by himself as Mommy prepares his breakfast.  This morning Mommy was preparing breakfast and Daddy got to sit with Connor.

After about 5 minutes of sitting with him, I got up to help Mommy with breakfast.  As I entered the kitchen, that is when I heard from the couch, “Daddy?”  I said, “What, Connor?”  He responded, “Daddy, sit down.”  I laughed and went over and sat down with the little birthday boy.

Later, after breakfast Mommy and I sat at the breakfast table reading the newspaper and drinking our coffee.  Connor comes in and hands me the smoke stack from his Thomas the Train and says, “Broke.”  I said, “Ok.”  and I waited for him to ask (more like request) that I fix it.  He just kind of looked at me and then said, “Daddy, fix it.”  I said, “Sure.” and got up and put the smoke stack on his train.  I sat back down and wouldn’t you know it , it “broke” a couple more times in the next 5 minutes and I had to “fix it”.

He is so cute and is learning and saying so much more now.  It truly is amazing how one day they go from not saying much to discovering that talking is so much easier than crying and pointing.

I love you, Connor!

Connor’s 1st “slumber party”

January 18th, 2010 by Donnie

Mimi and Grandpa had Connor and Brenna spend the night after his birthday party on Saturday.  Connor and Brenna played in the Thomas the Train and they also watched Connor’s Diego and Dora’s adventure.

Prior to spending the night, they went to Connor’s favorite spot for dinner, Andrea’s on Rt 17.  He loves the food and we think he has a crush on one of the waitresses.  😉

The grandkids and Mimi/Grandpa had such a wonderful time that are talking about doing it again real soon!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Connor!

January 17th, 2010 by Donnie

Where has the time gone?!?!? 2 years and now our baby is not…wait a minute. Connor, you will always be our baby.
Back to what I was saying…

Our baby is not a baby any longer.

We had Connor’s birthday party on Saturday and he was so thrilled to have EVERYONE over. I’ve never seen him so happy. First Grandma showed up, then Mimi and Papa, then Uncle Danny… He was so excited to see everyone. Then the kids started showing up. Brenna, Gavin, Issac and Abby, John and Daniel… At one point when Issac and Abby showed up, Connor ran to the door and slammed both hands on the glass and started dancing. He was SO HAPPY!!!!

Connor had a “Dora and Diego” theme birthday. We picked up a cake from Farm Fresh which was decorated GREAT and tasted great too! Connor got a Dora and Diego DVD from Grandma and he was digitally put into the video. That is pretty cool and when I get a chance, I will post a short clip of it.

The hit of the party was…well just wait a second…let me tell a story…

Mommy and Daddy bought Connor a 12″ bike with training wheels that has Diego on it. We thought for sure this was going to be his best present. We bought this two months ago and debated on whether to give it to him for Christmas or for his birthday. We decided on giving it to him for his birthday. Slam dunk, home run, the best gift he can get for his birthday…right????? WRONG!!!!

Uncle Danny hijacked the party and all of the kids attention (including Grandma’s) when Connor opened his present. He got him a Thomas the Train that is 5 feet long and 3.5 feet tall. It is kind of like a collapsible tent.

Soon after opening, Connor comes to me and says, “Daddy, open.” So, I opened it and the FUN began!

At one point, Brenna, Abby, and Issac were inside the train and Connor was running around it peering into the windows. He was pounding his little feet on the ground in excitement!

I had to walk over to Uncle Danny (my head hanging low) and said, “You hit a home run with that one.” So, here’s to you Uncle Danny!

Heck, at one point Grandma even got inside of Thomas the Train!

THANK YOU to all who attended!
