Alright, now that Victoria and I have gotten into a routine and I have managed to get some sleep (and naps during the day), I plan to write about our experience over last weekend. Just remember, I have had a hard time remembering what day of the week it is and whose calls I have forgotten to return, so remembering to make posts on this blog is also escaping me at times.
So, I will start slowly and hopefully capture as much of that special moment as I can.
I know most of you are now clamoring for photos and videos and could care less for these written entries, but this is kind of our digital baby book, so I have to write some amusing stories as well.
Hope you all are enjoying this as much as Victoria and I are enjoying raising our son.
Fatherhood (parenthood) is truly amazing!!!

We tried Connor out in his crib on Tuesday night and he seemed to take to it well. I slept through the alarm to feed him at 4am, so Connor woke me (via the baby monitor) at 6am. So, he slept for nearly 6 hours at one point.
We put him back in the crib again Wednesday night and he seems to enjoy it. The pack-n-play just didn’t seem to be as comfortable.
Hopefully this transition is complete and he will continue to take to crib as well as he has been doing so far.

Mommy and Daddy were concerned about me not going to the bathroom (#2) and talked to the doctor about it. They brought in the “bowel whisperer” to see if she could help it along. She prodded me with some rod and pushed on my stomach but nothing came out. (I was holding back a little.)
Well, today I finally made a nasty face and let out a nice scream. Ahhh… I felt so much better. The funny part was that Mommy and Daddy were so thrilled. Daddy rushed me off to change my diaper, but little did he know I was not quite done. 5 diapers later, a lot of wipes, and one amazed father, I was finally done.
I also left a surprise for Daddy at 1am this morning.
[Update] — I just left Daddy another present after my 1:15am feeding, so make that 3 times in less that 12 hrs. 😉
Hopefully, I have taught Mommy and Daddy not too wish for too much or they just might receive it.
Love,
Connor

Victoria is beginning to feel much better. We are settling into a routine with the feedings and diaper changes. Things are not as bad as they were yesterday. The doctor’s visit helped both us feel good and made us feel like we kind of know what we are doing.
Childbirth and parenthood is not easy but it sure helps to be educated and have family and friends that can help out. Thanks for all the help (you know who you are).
I am truly amazed what mothers go through in order to deliver their babies. Absolutely amazing.

Don’t order pictures from the site. I know the photographer, so contact us and we can give you a better price. You can click on the thumbnail and it will display an image that you can print a decent 4×6 at home.
I will try to update when I can…here are the one’s that were on my camera. Victoria’s parents took some pics too…I will get them and post them when I have some free time (in about 18 years). 😉

For those of you who don’t know, it is pretty typical for babies to lose weight prior to and after leaving the hospital. Usually by the end of the first week they are back at the discharge weight and by the second week they are at their original birth weight.
Connor’s stats:
Birth: 6lbs 6oz
Discharge: 6lbs 1oz
4 day checkup: 6lbs 2oz
Connor has gained an ounce! Mommy and Daddy were so proud (and relieved). Here is a little video of Connor at the doctor’s office. Daddy is talking (for Connor).
Love you guys!

Alright, here are a couple of pics of Connor. When I have time, I plan on writing quite a bit about our experience.
It truly was amazing and Connor is the joy of our lives! Yes, Dad cried more than Connor did. Victoria was amazing and is recovering nicely. We are all at home now.
More when I have time. (I am typing one handed because my best new bud is cradled in my other arm.)
