Connor called my bluff last night and went down very easily. No crying or fussing.
I put him to bed at midnight and he was still sleeping when I woke up at 6:30am. Victoria woke him shortly after that and gave him his breakfast.
I guess I will continue to wait for that “all nighter”.

It is 11:15pm and Connor is getting his last feeding of the night. This is about 1.5 hrs later than normal. Mimi and Grandpa visited tonight and they fed him around 7pm and then he quickly fell asleep. He slept for nearly 3.5 hours without waking and when I tried to wake him, he didn’t want anything to do with it.
So, for those of you who work with me…stop by my office and see how bloodshot my eyes are in the morning. I am betting that tonight will be one of those nights where we get very little sleep because Connor is going to be wide awake.
Wish us the best!
Here is a video of me trying to wake Connor around 10:30pm after he had been asleep for 3 hours straight.

I have been a little hesitant about talking about how “perfect” Connor is because I was afraid I would jinx him/us. Don’t get me wrong, Connor cries and can be fussy at times, but overall he is PERFECT!
As most of you know, bedtime has been quite uneventful for us each night. This past week it has even gotten better. Connor has been “wide awake” each night we put him to bed this past week, but he seems to understand it is bedtime and has not even cried once this week. We do the routine I mentioned earlier, I lay him down (sometimes awake other times he is nearly asleep) but the outcome is always the same.
He usually falls asleep pretty quickly and does not wake for about 5.5 to 6.5 hours. We actually got 7 hours the other night. AMAZING! That is my boy! I am so proud of him and think he is outstanding and PERFECT!

Connor and I watched ODU play William & Mary in basketball today. We wore our ODU basketball shirts and tried to cheer them on to victory. Unfortunately, ODU lost. But as you can see by the pictures, Connor was too tired to watch the ending of the game. (Probably a good thing.)
Check out the photo gallery for pictures of Daddy and Connor.

…which Mommy does not want to lay claim to.
Connor has the “double chin” that Daddy has developed over the past 4-5 months. Daddy showed Mommy Connor’s double chin and Mommy was quick to point out that it is “like father, like son”.
Oh well…time to go to the gym!
That is good news for Connor, because it shows he is starting to fill out and is definitely gaining weight from the breastfeeding!!!

For 6.5 weeks now, here is the nightly routine that I have manipulated Mommy and Daddy into:
- Mommy feeds me.
- Daddy takes over, burps me and plays with me for about 1 to 2 hours (depending on how tired he or I am).
- Mommy feeds me again.
- Daddy burps me, takes me to my room, turns on the night light and lamp, changes my diaper, swaddles me, and then reads to me in the rocking chair. He has done this EVERY night since they brought me home from the hospital.
- Daddy turns on the noise machine Mimi and Grandpa bought for them which plays a variety of sounds. I especially like the one called “Summer nights” because I can hear crickets and frogs.
- Daddy puts me to bed and then Mommy and Daddy usually head to bed and listen very carefully for me.
- Sometime after 3am — I usually get fed again. Sometimes I can go all the way to 5 or 6am the next morning.
I really love the fact that Daddy has read to me EVERY night since we have come home from the hospital. I think he is terrified that if he misses a nightly reading, I will fall into a new sleep (or better yet a no sleep) pattern. So, I have him suckered into reading to me nearly in the dark each night.
Last night I was wide awake when Daddy swaddled me and read to me. Mommy had to help Daddy turn the pages on the book because Daddy was holding the book in one hand and patting my back with his other hand. (hehehehe, what a sucker!) I’ve got the two of them wrapped around my little finger.
Grandma, Mimi, and Grandpa — Mommy and Daddy were laughing at me last night while the were reading the book to me. They thought it was so funny that I was wide awake. I was staring at Daddy with my eyes wide open as he read to me. Little did they know I was trying to tell them to pick a new book. I have heard that same story for nearly 45 days straight now!!!!
Daddy — once you can nearly recite the book with out having to turn the pages, it is time to find a new book to entertain me.
Love,
Connor
