2 for 2

May 21st, 2007 by Donnie

We decided to pickup another pregnancy test (a two pack) so we could test again. Victoria has her yearly checkup with her doctor this Friday so we figure we will know for sure on Friday. In the meantime, I am the type who likes to be double and triple sure…

We went to dinner with Gene and Louise tonight and agreed we would not say a thing to them.

When we got home, we tested again and we once again were elated to see it was a positive test. We used a different brand this time so we (mainly I) could be sure. Victoria said she knew she was pregnant and I have read that women can often tell when they are pregnant. That was something I found amazing. I am sure that will be the first in many things I learn and find amazing over the next 9 months.

Expecting…

May 20th, 2007 by Donnie

I was playing golf in Richmond with my brother, Mark, and Kyle today.

After returning home, I found Victoria sitting in the hammock out back. She gave me a wave and started to come inside. She had also baked some brownies. All of this seemed a bit unusual, but I didn’t think twice about it at the time.

She joined me in the kitchen and told me that she was pregnant. I thought she was kidding around with me. She insisted she was not joking and then went upstairs. She brought the pregnancy test back downstairs and showed it to me. It said “Pregnant”.

I was now excited and we began hugging one another and saying how we were going to have a baby. Then I asked to see the instructions on the pregnancy test. Evidently the accuracy on a pregnancy test goes up the closer your are to your next period. Victoria was not sure when her last period was, so I was beginning to to be a skeptic. I searched the Internet for information about pregnancy tests and found that false positives usually don’t happen. So I was a believer again…
